[Mar 2024]: How to develop a code to live by?
Takeaways: 1. Create your own rules 2. Read a lot & learn by observing and 3. Take responsibility for your life & your choices.
Hey Champ,
Let’s talk about a big word: “Conscience.” It’s something inside us that helps us know what’s right and wrong. Even though you’re young, understanding your conscience is super important to living a good, happy life.
When you’re born, your conscience is pure. You know what’s right and wrong. For example, if you see another kid sad, you feel sad too. But as you grow up, you watch how adults act and learn from them. This can either help your conscience grow stronger or make it weaker.
So, how can you keep your conscience strong and good?
1. Follow a Code:
Create your own rules for living. Simple rules like “Always be honest,” “Be brave,” or “Don’t hurt others” are good, but life can be tricky. Sometimes telling the truth might be dangerous, or being brave might be hard. Your code will be tested many times, so choose wisely.
2. Read and Learn:
Reading stories from books like the Bhagavad Gita or Mahabharata can help you learn important lessons. You can also read about real people like Mahatma Gandhi or watch movies that inspire you, like “Rocky.” These stories and movies show how people face challenges and stay strong.
3. Trust Carefully:
It’s important to have people you can trust, but be careful. Trust is like a game – only trust people with things you can afford to lose. Make sure someone has earned your trust before you share important stuff with them.
4. Observe Others:
Watch how people act and how their choices affect their lives. This helps you learn what’s right and wrong. You’ll see many different types of people, and this will give you lots of ideas on how to handle tough situations.
Sometimes, you might have to choose between two hard options. Some people just pick what’s best for them, even if it’s not right. It’s important to be brave and do the right thing, even if it’s tough.
Living in a community means following common rules and values. If someone tells you to do something wrong, it’s best to think twice. Ask yourself if it’s something you’d be ashamed of if others found out.
In the end, your life is your responsibility. Make choices that you’re proud of. Remember, no matter what, I’ll always be here for you. You’re the best gift ever!
Love you!
