[Jun 2025] The Power of Saying No
Learning to say “No” isn’t about shutting doors — it’s about honoring your inner voice, protecting your peace, and making space for what truly matters.
Hey Champ,
Every month, I try to have this dialogue with you through these letters and I believe it helps the father within me because that father really wants the best for you. If God has shut down every other path for me, I am thankful to the Universe that in some ways this path remains open. These are not just some random thoughts that I put together. I try and live this conversation every time I post it. I try and imagine how you would react if I was saying these words to you in person.
The cover images that I have put up for these letters - reflect that imagination for me. When you step out, you will see an ocean of people around you and when you deal with the challenges of day to day life, I want you to know that these letters are not just words - these are my messages to the whole Universe to look out for you and guide you forward through each and every challenge you ever face.
May you always be surrounded by loving, kind and honest people!
May you always have the ambition to be the best, the intelligence to figure out your path, and the courage to walk confidently and peacefully towards your goals!
May you always have peace and happiness in your life, no matter the circumstances you find yourself in!
Now, onto the topic for this letter: something that I believe is crucial for all of us to know and understand! It is quite simply, the power of ‘No’.
This word can feel really small, but holds the power to change your life: “No.”
It’s one of the first words we learn as babies. And yet, as we grow older, it somehow becomes harder and harder to use.
We say “yes” to things we don’t want to do, just to avoid disappointing someone.
We say “yes” to staying quiet, even when our heart is screaming.
We say “yes” to following others, even when our gut tells us to go the other way.
But here’s the truth I want you to always remember:
Every time you say “no” to something that doesn’t feel right, you say “yes” to yourself.
You protect your time, your energy, your dreams, and most importantly — your peace.
⸻
Saying No Is Not About Being Rude
Some people think that saying “no” is selfish, disrespectful, or cold.
It’s not.
Saying “no” is a way of respecting your values, your priorities, and your well-being.
Imagine if you spent your whole day saying “yes” to everything — helping everyone, going everywhere, doing whatever people asked. You’d end the day tired, stressed, and probably feeling like you didn’t do anything that mattered to you.
Now imagine a day where you carefully chose what to say “yes” to — and confidently said “no” to what didn’t feel right. You’d end the day with energy, focus, and pride.
⸻
You Don’t Owe Everyone a “Yes”
You don’t owe your time to people who don’t respect you.
You don’t owe your energy to things that drain you.
You don’t owe your silence to situations where speaking up is the right thing to do.
Being kind doesn’t mean being a doormat.
Being generous doesn’t mean being available 24/7.
You are allowed to draw a line.
⸻
When to Say “No”
Here’s a simple test: If it makes you feel anxious, small, unimportant, unsafe, or disconnected from your values — that’s a sign to consider saying “no.”
And yes, it will be hard sometimes.
You might lose people.
You might feel alone for a bit.
But what you’ll gain is far more valuable — self-respect, clarity, and the space to grow into the person you’re meant to be.
⸻
Saying “No” Is Saying “Yes” to Bigger Things
When you say “no” to distractions, you say “yes” to your goals.
When you say “no” to peer pressure, you say “yes” to your strength.
When you say “no” to negativity, you say “yes” to peace.
Every “no” is a doorway — closing one path, so a better one can open.
⸻
I hope you grow up to be someone who knows his boundaries — and defends them with calm confidence.
Not because you want to push people away.
But because you know the value of your time, your dreams, and your heart.
Saying “no” is a superpower.
Use it wisely.
That’s all for this letter! In the end, just remember that you will never be alone. I have put so much love for you out in this Universe, that the Universe has no choice but to look out for you. With all my heart and all my soul, I miss you and I continue to wait!
With all my heart,
Papa
