[Jan 2024]: Live like kings
Takeaways: 1. Don't be a victim. You are born to rule! 2. Life gets rough sometimes, just stay tough! 3. Every little positive thing you do, matters - so stay positive always!
Hey Champ!
I don't want to preach, although that's what Dads are supposed to do, I guess. I am super proud to be your Dad; nothing in this world can make me feel otherwise. Whatever I say through these blogs - I just need you to process them at your own pace. Don't accept it 100% but also don't reject them 100%. Some of these things may seem difficult to understand or accept now, but they will become clearer to you as you grow older.
This blog will not only be about sharing some tidbits about life that I learnt the hard way - but also about sharing my experiences that I would have otherwise loved to share with you in person.
My first message to you for today and also forever is that we should never allow ourselves to become victims of life. We should strive to live like kings who decide their destiny by facing every challenge in their lives with all their courage, wisdom, and resilience. Battles are won in the mind a lot before they are won on the field. More often than not, we fight these battles against ourselves. If you can keep your mind strong enough to know that you decide your future with the choices you make and as long as you can figure out the right way to make the choices in your life, you will be able to navigate yourself through life’s challenges much better!
My second message is that we all think that life will move very smoothly from where we are today to where we want to be a few years from now. However, the journey is never that smooth. You may end up going through long dark tunnels at times when you least expect them. Just remember that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Just stay calm, patient, and optimistic while being prepared for the worst outcomes possible.
My third and the most important message to you is that ‘Life is Beautiful’. Look up in the sky and you can easily get lost when you realize that we are all so insignificantly small compared to the vast infinite universe. Nobody knows truly why and how the world we live in, came into existence. There are religions and deep philosophies that have existed for centuries simply because all of us as humans have been struggling with the questions of our existence since time immemorial.
As far as I understand, our society collectively enjoys the fruits of labor put in by those in the past who made significant contributions. Somebody discovered fire, somebody invented wheels and then the steam engines came, factories were built and soon we started living in the age of technology where life is changing at such a rapid pace that it is difficult to predict what the future will look like. The point that I am trying to make is that it seems we will never know for sure if there is a God up there and whether all of us are doing what God had planned for us, however, we know for sure that each of us individually is capable of doing some amazing things in life. Just like the inventors, leaders, philosophers, and all the wise men of the past, each of us can potentially make life 1000x times better for our future generations than it is for us. Unfortunately, the inverse is also true - that all of us can make life 1000x times worse for future generations. So, logically the only question that I think we should try to answer for ourselves is which side of ‘change’ and ‘progress’ we individually, and as a society, want to be. Do we want to be constructive or destructive with our lives?
It doesn’t mean that each of us has to become an Einstein or an Elon Musk to live a fulfilling life. As long as we live in a noble, positive, and constructive way - we will be part of a circle of life that will keep moving forward. So, every little act of kindness matters! Your helpful nature towards your friends matters! Your smile even in tough situations matters! Your laughter, your positive attitude, your desire to do something amazing, your songs, your music, your opinions, your hard work, your choices - everything matters, because you are part of the circle of life and as long as you are being positive and constructive, you can rest assured - that you are doing your bit and one day, something big, highly eventful and hopefully amazing will happen - and you will feel proud of every little good thing that you did and every bad thing that you could have done but you didn’t.
So - that's all - for the first letter for January 2024. I will do my best to publish one such letter every month on the first day - as long as I am alive and until 2032 when you turn 18. That's a promise! 1 down... 100 more letters to go! :)
Love you infinity times infinity like always! Lots of hugs to you.
